Muktinath tours is dedicated to the Hindu God Shri Vishnu, who is one of the three major Hindu gods. In his various incarnations (avatars), Vishnu appears to provide salvation for humanity as the god of Preservation. It is at Muktinath Temple that Shri Vishnu appears as the Shaligram (a sacred fossilized stone). Shri Vishnu unwittingly deceives Tulasi to save the world from various evil forces. In consequence, he was cursed to spend his life in Shaligram. As one of the 108 Divya places of Shri Vishnu, Muktinath Dham is the spot where he spent his life in Shaligram form. As an ancient Vishnu temple located in Mustang, Nepal, Muktinath is revered by Hindus and Buddhists as the abode of the Hindu deity Vishnu and Buddhist deity Avalokiteshvara. Buddhism worships the temple as an abode of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha who represents all compassion. It is one of the world's highest temples at an altitude of 3,800 meters, located in the Muktinath valley at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass.
It is believed that people who take bath under Muktinath 108 water spouts will earn eternal virtue in life. First of all, people have to bathe under these spouts. The first thing you should do is take a holy bath under these spouts, followed by paying respects to Muktinath Temple. According to Hindu belief, whoever performs Saradha (memorial service) in memory of dead ancestors will go to heaven. Among many religious pilgrimage sites in Nepal, Muktinath is a very famous pilgrimage site. Muktinath is 389km away from Kathmandu.
